Writing, John Gardner's said, should aspire to "hold a candle up to illuminate the darkness" of human existence. Although it may seem strange, one of the ways this can be done is through anime fanfiction. Spinning stories of the histories and relationships of such characters who are simultaneously idiosyncratic and archetypal is surprisingly satisfying. The relationships in the stories are varied, as are the couples and the sexual orientations. Some are one-sided, and others requited; some express friendship, some love, and some desires healthy (and otherwise). If you might be offended by such material or are not old enough to view it, please don't enter the site. Note that the stories are rated from PG to R. |
